The Europe-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Liaison Committee (COLEACP) is a civil society organisation established in 1973 by stakeholders in the international fruit and vegetable trade. As a not-for-profit inter-professional association, its primary goal is to support the development of sustainable and competitive agriculture and agribusiness.
To produce visual communication rooted in the realities of the field, COLEACP commissioned me to document agricultural practices in Nigeria, Benin, and Togo. I captured the work and skills of farmers and stakeholders, as well as life in local markets and surrounding communities.
The assignment took me from small organic farms to larger production facilities, shops, local markets, supermarkets, and small-scale processing plants. As part of the agricultural chain, I also documented activity at the port of Lagos, observing how produce moves from farm to market.
These images aim to reveal the human effort, knowledge, and rhythms that sustain agricultural life, offering an intimate view of people and practices that underpin the region’s food systems.
