The 800th anniversary of Nizamuddin shrine — Delhi, India

The Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (1238–1325) is one of the major Sufi shrines in Delhi, and a central site within the Chishti order. The shrine functions as a place of pilgrimage and devotion, visited throughout the year by people coming to pray and take part in collective practices.

The site is organised around the tomb of the saint, around which devotional activities take place, including recitation, music and gatherings that bring together visitors and practitioners from different backgrounds.

These photographs were made during the 800th anniversary of the shrine.
