Survival of the youngest

Sierra-Leone for UNICEF

Sierra-Leone has some of the worst statistics worldwide concerning its inhabitants' nutrition and life expectancy. 5 years after the war's end, the future of the youngest was still more than uncertain.

One child on five won't reach the age of five. Due to malnutrition, complete lack of healthcare, destructurized economy and bad hygiene habits, the death rate is frightening.

UNICEF is having a nation wide program to guarantee a better access to health care and motherhood care as well as Specialized Nutrition Unit for severely malnourished children.
